PETERSEN MEDIA: Heading to Chico, CA fresh of his season opening win just a week ago, Justin Sanders would experience mechanical issues on Friday night before charging his way to a sixth place finish in the Silver Cup finale on Saturday night.
“It was a pretty good weekend for us overall, aside from some mechanical issues on Friday night,” Justin Sanders said.
After losing an engine late in Friday night’s feature event, Sanders was back in action on Saturday night, and things got off to a slower than desired start as Sanders timed the Rudy Warrington owned No. 18 machine in 22nd fastest.
Lining up sixth in his heat race, the Watsonville, CA driver would work his way to a fourth place finish, transferring him into the feature event, though he would roll off in the ninth row.
Not letting the rough track conditions effect him, Sanders was able to patiently work his way forward as the track did take it’s toll on some cars.
Working his way all the way into the eight spot in nine laps, Sanders would battle his way to a sixth place finish when the wild feature came to a close.
“We were fast on Friday night, but we had some issues that took us out of the race,” he added. “I have to thank my guys for getting things ready for Saturday night, and am happy we were able to have a good night to cap off the weekend.”
Justin Sanders would like to thank North County Plastering, G&N Construction, STS Trucking, Lancaster Locksmith, Village Glass. Lufos Kustom Designs, Taco Bravo, LRB Race Products, Petersen Media, Fire Protection Management, Dirt Solution, Bob Tweedy, Ron Gravelle. Keener Auto Body, and Dave Haver Racing Engines for their continued support.
ON TAP: Sanders will be back in action on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway in Marysville, CA.
