Justin Sanders Third with KWS Aboard Works Limited No. 57

PETERSEN MEDIA: After a couple of weeks out of the seat, Justin Sanders returned to action on Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway where he would pick up a third-place finish aboard the Works Limited No. 57 machine.

“After a couple of weeks off from racing, it felt good to get back in the car,” Justin Sanders said. “I felt a little rusty early in the night, but luckily Paul Silva and the guys gave me a great car to help me out, and we turned in a pretty solid night.”

With 20-cars checked in as the series begins its home stretch for the 2021 campaign, Sanders would stop the clocks with the fastest lap of the night in ARP qualifying time trials.

Taking the green from the fourth starting position in his heat race, the Aromas, CA driver would gain valuable event points as he powered his way to a second-place finish and secured a spot in the all-important Dash.

“I felt like I was off in qualifying, but the car was really good and actually carried me,” Sanders said. “Our heat race was crucial, as getting in the Dash each night is so important.”

Lining up sixth in the Dash, Sanders would improve his feature event starting position by one row as he worked his way to a fourth-place finish.

When the race got underway, Sanders would work into the third position as he chased after Joel Myers Jr, and early leader Tim Kaeding. Able to get by Myers on an early restart to take over the second position, Sanders would slip back to third on another restart as Myers was able to return the favor.

Working his way back into second, a late caution would create one final restart, and this restart would see Sanders slip back to fourth. Getting back on the podium in the closing laps, Sanders would chase after second running TK but would settle for third when the checkered flag was displayed to the field.

“I really have to thank everyone involved on this Works Limited team for all of their hard work,” Sanders added. “We have had a good run together, and it has been a fun few weeks.”

Justin and his team would like to thank North County Plastering, Alkaline88, Andy’s Construction, Roadside 24hr Service, Wicked Cushion, Roger’s Diner, Factory Kahne, BG Labels and Tee’s, Walker Performance Filtration, Dixon and Son Tires, Ernie’s Service Center, East Lake Village, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., DMI, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, Ti64 Titanium, AIS Heating and Sheet Metal, Fred Lint and Family, JonSan Racing, Sandblast Service, G&N Construction, Steitz Towing, Durden Construction, Ernie’s Service Center, and Steve Duppman Racing for their continued support in 2021.
