Justyn Cox and C&M Motorsports 4th at Marysville Raceway on Memorial Day

PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back together for the first time since winning March’s Silver Cup, Justyn Cox and C&M Motorsports continued to show some serious speed together as Cox came away with a fourth-place finish.

“It felt great to get back in the 7c and work with Cody, MF, and Tom again,” Justyn Cox said. “It was a smooth and fin night and those guys had the car dialed in.”

With 45 cars checked into the pit area, Cox would time the Moorefield Construction/Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber, Inc. backed No. 7c in eight fastest in his qualifying group.

Moving into heat race competition, the Clarksburg, CA driver raced his way to the win and earned a berth in the all-important redraw.

Pulling the five pill, Cox would grid the field from the inside of the third row for the 25 lap affair as he looked to go back to back with C&M Motorsports. When the race came to life, Cox began working his way forward as he showcased a very strong entry underneath him.

Working his way forward, Cox would come into contact with a spinning car early in the race. Able to keep underpower, Cox would endure damage to his right rear shock which made most of the race a bit of a handful.

Making what adjustments he could from the cockpit, Cox would get his elbows up as he found himself in a bit of a wrestling match for much of the race. Able to keep his entry well inside the Top-5, Cox would find himself up in third late in the race.

On the final lap of the race, Cox would try to make a big time move, but it would not work out for him as he slipped back one spot and ended his Memorial Day with a fourth place finish.

“I really feel that if we didn’t make that early race contact and lose our shock than we really would have been there battling for the win,” Cox said. “Even with the damage we were where we wanted to be at the end of the race, we just came up short and that is a good feeling. Big thanks again to Cody and Mandi for this opportunity. I really am looking forward to getting back to racing on a more regular basis because we really race well together and some big things can come for us.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Berco Redwood, Barry Lumber, Inc., Legacy Specialties, Inc. PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
