Justyn Cox and C&M Motorsports Set for Hanford, CA Doubleheader Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour called their West Coast trip off, the Dirt Track at Kern County kept a race on at their facility, and Justyn Cox and the C&M Motorsports team made the trip down on Saturday.
“It was kind of a long night for our team, but we are still figuring things out,” Justyn Cox said. “I felt like we laid down a good lap in time trials, but we missed inversion within our group, and it put us a little behind.”
Timing the Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/Lund Construction backed No. 7c in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials, the Clarksburg, CA pilot would line up seventh in his heat race.
Making some adjustments just before heat race action, Cox would be unable to mount a charge and get up into a transfer position as his sixth-place finish put him in the “B” main, where just two more transfer positions were up for grabs.
Lining up in the second row of the semi, Cox showcased a very strong C&M Motorsports entry. Able to get out to the lead, Cox would never look back as he picked up the win and punched his ticket into the I-5 Classic feature event.
By way of winning the semi, Cox moved into the feature event where he took the green flag from the 21st starting position.
Starting at the back of the pack, the C&M Motorsports opted to test a few things on their set up. When the race came to life, Cox felt pretty comfortable on the Kern County Speedway park surface, that was until he developed a slight issue with his throttle.
With the throttle hanging up at times, Cox found it tough to get into rhythm, however he would climb up into the 13th spot as he fought through dense traffic.
Battling the throttle issue, Cox would lose a few positions in the final stages of the race as he slipped back to 16thbefore losing the handle on the 28th circuit. Restarting 17th, Cox would close night out with a 16th place finish.
“I felt good in the feature, it was just tough to get going from that far back,” Cox said. “We had a little throttle issue that made things tough, and then with the issue I couldn’t get slowed down and lost the handle. Still, a fun night with the C&M Motorsports team, and I am really excited for two more nights this weekend.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Barry Lumber, Inc., Lund Construction, Anrak, Legacy Specialties, Inc. PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
