PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the 27th Annual Dave Bradway Jr Memorial over the weekend, Justyn Cox would get caught up in a big wreck at the start of the semi that would bring a tough weekend to a close.

“Friday night we struggled to get our car right, and on Saturday we were involved in a huge wreck at the tart of the ‘B’, Justyn Cox said. “I got a little banged up, but fortunately nothing serious and we can race another day.”

With 37 cars checked in on Saturday night, Cox would time in 31st fastest and would have his work cut out himself moving forward.

Lining the Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/Trex backed No. 31c sprinter up in the fourth row of his heat race, a lightening fast Silver Dollar Speedway surface was not conducive to much passing, and the Clarksburg, CA driver would finish in the seventh spot.

Forced into the night’s semi, Cox would grid the field from the 14th starting position. As the field came to take the green, a couple of cars would get together and start slipping and a melee was on. Trying to check up, Cox would get hit and he would then go flipping bringing his night to an end.

Cox and company were also in action on Friday night as they competed in the Silver Dollar Speedway weekly event paying homage to Bill Brownell. Timing in 19th fastest, Cox would race his way into the feature event by way of a fifth place finish in the ‘B’ main.

Lining up scratch on the field, Cox would get over the edge of the speedway, and opt to take his car back to his trailer and begin work for the Bradway.

“It was just a tough first weekend back with our 410ci engine,” Cox said. “We have some work to do this week, and we will hopefully be back for two more races this weekend.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Trex, PM Truck Repair, Justice Brothers, K&N, LRB, Konnected, A.R.T., Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, EyeLusions, All American Powder Coating, Coos Bay Speedway, Swimming Pool Perfections, Tim’s Hot Rod Shop, Shell Shock, Moyle Race Engines, and Manzer Motorsports for their support in 2017!

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-11, Wins-1, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-3

ON TAP: Justyn Cox is scheduled to make a return trip to Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night before meeting back up with the King of the West Series on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
