PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing at the Jackson Motorplex and the Badlands Motor Speedway over the weekend, Tim Kaeding continued his strong season with the Lunstra Motorsports team as he picked up two third place finishes, one second place finish, and one fourth place finish.

“We were really consistent all weekend long, and did a nice job at both tracks,” Kaeding said.

Checking in at the Jackson Motorplex on Friday night for Twin Feature night, Kaeding would finish in the second spot of his heat race, which lined him up in the fourth row for the first 20-lap feature event.

From the fourth row, Kaeding had his elbows up as he thrilled the crowd that was on hand at the ½ mile speedway. Working his way forward, Kaeding would finish in the third spot, which would place him in the 10th starting spot for the second feature event with the Top-12 finishers inverted.

Just as he did in the first race, Kaeding was extremely fast aboard the Folkes Bros. Trucking/Dammer Trucking/Mihm Trucking No. 3 entry. Getting back into the third spot, Kaeding would hope for a yellow as the leaders were spread out. With time running out on the second main, Kaeding would close his night out with his second third place finish.

Saturday night saw the Lunstra Motorsports team check in at the Badlands Motor Speedway for a night of 410ci racing action. Timing in seventh fastest in time trials, the San Jose, CA native would pick up the heat race win.

On an extremely fast surface in the feature event, Kaeding would spend much of the race battling for the third and fourth spot with Paul Nienhiser. With passing at a premium on Saturday, Kaeding would hold strong as he finished in the fourth spot.

Sunday night the team was back in action at Badlands for a 360ci event. Lining up seventh in the feature event, Kaeding was able to stay out of a couple wild wrecks that took place at the start of the race as he worked his way forward.

Getting into the second spot, TK would make it interesting as he pressured the race leader, but in traffic Kaeding would see the leader get away. Continuing to mash the throttle, Kaeding would close in on the race lead in the final laps and would bring the crowd to their feet as he closed in.

In the end, Kaeding would come up just short as he finished in the second spot.

“It was a fun weekend of racing, and was really good to be able to come through the field like we did on three occasions,” Kaeding said. “This Lunstra Motorsports team works hard and is a good group to race with, and hopefully we can get a couple spots better this weekend.”

The Lunstra Motorsports team would like to thank Folkens Bros. Trucking, Dammer Trucking, Mihm Trucking, Yager Agriculture Supply, Matt’s Repair, and Trac2Trail Arctic Cat for their support in 2016.

ON TAP: TK and the Lunstra Motorsports team will be back at the Badlands Motor Speedway this Saturday and Sunday night.
