Kaleb Montgomery 11th at Sprint Car Challenge Tour Season Opener

PETERSEN MEDIA- Since climbing aboard the F&F Racing machine last November in Stockton, CA, Kaleb Montgomery has been patiently waiting to get to Placerville Speedway with the team. The wait finally ended on Saturday night at the Sprint Car Challenge Tour’s opening event of the season where Montgomery picked up an 11th place finish with 51 cars checked into the pit area.

“Overall, it was a good opening round with the SCCT,” Kaleb Montgomery said. “The driver was horrible in time trials, but the F&F guys gave me a really good car in our heat race, and I was able to pass some cars and make up for the qualifying effort.”

With 51 cars packed into the Placerville Speedway pit area for the track’s opener that featured the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Montgomery would time the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Geico Local Office backed No. x1 entry in seventh fastest in his qualifying group.

Taking the green flag from the seventh starting position in his heat race, the Templeton, CA driver had some work to do with only the Top-Four finishers locking into the feature event.

On the ¼ mile bullring, Montgomery put on a show as he worked his way forward. Racing into third, Montgomery would finish there and put himself in the 35-lap feature event where he would find himself 15th on the starting grid.

When the feature event came to life on the slick Placerville Speedway surface, Montgomery played it smart as he searched around the famed red clay racing his way towards the Top-10.

Still, amidst a new paring for 2022, Montgomery continued to acclimate himself to a new car, with a new crew, on a familiar surface. When the fast paced 35-lap feature event came to an end, Montgomery capped the night off with an 11thplace finish.

“The guys keep getting the car better every time I drive it, and it has me excited to get back to Placerville on Saturday night,” Montgomery added.

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Lucas Oil, Geico Local Office, Econo Lube-n-Tune & Brakes, Pacific Highway Rentals, PitStopUSA, FVP, CRV Carbon Solutions, American River Overhead Door, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing will be back in action Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.
