PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Stockton, CA, Kaleb Montgomery took the seat of the F&F Racing No. X1 machine during the final SCCT event of the 2021 season. Though he would pull off in the feature event, Montgomery was pleased with how he worked with the team all night long.
“Thought the result wasn’t what we had hoped for, I really think Saturday was a good night for the F&F Racing team,” Kaleb Montgomery said. “It was pretty cool to jump in with a new team and work so well with them and make adjustments all night that made us better each time we hit the track.”
With 24 cars on hand for the final SCCT event of the 2021 season, Montgomery would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 machine in fourth fastest in his qualifying group.
Picking up a fifth-place finish in heat race competition, the Templeton, CA driver would take the green flag from the 18th starting position for the final SCCT event of the season.
Though Stockton Dirt Track was admittedly not one of his best tracks, Montgomery would still do what he could on the slick surface from the back of the pack. With the track conditions making it tough to pass on, Montgomery would do all he could from the tail end of the field.
Racing hard in his debut in the F&F Racing entry, Montgomery would make the decision to call it a night early on the 22nd lap and pull back to the pit area.
“When we put the deal together, the team and I both admitted that Stockton wasn’t either of our best tracks, but we would see what we could do,” Montgomery said. “I really have to thank Alan Bradway, and everyone that works on the car because they made leaps and bounds to get me comfortable. I wish we had a Placerville race still so we could really see how we race together, but I am very thankful for the opportunity.”
