Kalib Henry and McColloch Motorsports 7th at Placerville’s Regular Season Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting back to business at Placerville Speedway following their win at the track two weeks prior, Kalib Henry and McColloch Motorsports put another solid run together that saw them finish seventh during the track’s regular season finale on the heels of a sixth-place finish at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night.

“We had really good speed early and set ourselves up well in qualifying and by winning our heat,” Kalib Henry said. “For some reason we kind of faded at the end, so we’d like to get that figured out so we can be our strongest when it counts. We still finished in the Top-10, so overall it was still a good night.”

With a robust car count checked into the pit area, Henry’s high draw would put him the second to last car to go out for time trials overall. Timing in sixth fastest in his flight, the Mather, CA driver lined up on the front row of his heat race.

With a prime starting position in his heat, a win would secure himself a spot in the all-important redraw where the five pill placed him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

When the race went green, Henry jumped into fifth as he spent much of the night battling for a spot in the Top-Five. Bouncing between fifth and sixth during much of the first half of the race, Henry slipped back to seventh on the 14th lap as he worked around the ¼ mile bullring aboard the McColloch’s RV Repair/Davis Truck Painting/Driven Homes Inc. backed no. 17.

Getting back into sixth on the 20th lap, Henry would fall back to seventh on the race’s 22nd lap where he went on to finish.

Friday night also saw McColloch Motorsports in action as they got in one final night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA before the impending Gold Cup Race of Champions takes center stage.

Timing in second fastest in his qualifying group, Henry would tally a second-place finish and earn a spot in the night’s Bike Race Dash to set the first four rows of the 30-lap feature event.

Ending up fifth in the ‘Dash’, Henry took the green flag from the third row of the feature just as he did at Placerville Speedway.

Getting into fourth as the race went green, Henry slipped back to fifth on the 10th lap as he raced with the likes of Tony Gomes and Willie Croft.

As the laps clicked off, Henry would slip back one more spot as he ended his Friday night with a sixth-place finish.

“It was a fun weekend, we had two solid runs, but we have a little work to do before next week’s Gold Cup.”

McColloch Motorsports would like to thank McColloch’s RV Repair, Davis Truck Painting, Driven Homes, Inc., ART Speed Equipment, Hansen Machine, Rockstar Services, and Gary Morgan Graphics for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 10, Wins: 1, Top-5’s: 3, Top-10’s- 8

ON TAP: McColloch Motorsports and Kalib Henry will be back in action during the Gold Cup Race of Champions in Chico, CA.
