Kalib Henry and McColloch Motorsports Sixth at SCCT Event

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to the seat of the McColloch Motorsports No. 17 machine on Saturday night in Placerville, CA, Kalib Henry would battle up front in the race’s opening laps before capping the night off with a sixth-place finish.

“We had a pretty fast car all night, but under an early yellow I think we sealed a tire up and it kind of took us out of contention,” Henry said. “I kind of did all I could, and we were able to come away with a sixth-place finish.”

Earning quick time honors in his group aboard the Erin Ashley Gold Country Dream Homes/McColloch’s RV Repair/Express Sewer and Drain backed No. 17 mount, Henry would line up fourth in his heat race.

Enduring a collapsed nose wing in the early stages of the heat, Henry would slip back to sixth before racing his way back to a second-place finish and earning a berth in the Dash and the 35-lap feature event.

With a little luck on his side, the Mather, CA driver would end up with the one pill in the Dash Draw and would line up on the pole of the six-lap shootout. Picking up the win in the High Sierra Industries Dash, Henry would lead the field to green for the 35-lap Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial feature event.

When the race went green the battle up front was on between Henry and fellow front row starter, Justyn Cox. The duo thrilled the capacity crowd exchanging the top spot for the first seven laps until the caution flag was displayed.

Under the caution flag, Henry’s right rear tire would seal up making it tough for him to make grip on the slick surface once the action resumed. Doing all he could with limited grip, Henry would slip back a few positions over the course of the race and ultimately ended his night with a sixth-place finish.

“We have been trying a lot of things, and some have worked, and some have not but we have a really good balance right now,” Henry said. “Big thanks to everyone on McColloch Motorsports for their help and support, I am happy we are back racing together.’

McColloch Motorsports would like to thank McColloch’s RV Repair, Express Sewer and Drain, Davis Truck Painting, Driven Homes, Inc., ART Speed Equipment, RE Technologies, Hansen Machine, ADCO Driveline, and Gary Morgan Graphics for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 5, Wins: 0, Top-5’s: 2, Top-10’s- 3

ON TAP: McColloch Motorsports and Henry are unsure of their next race together at this time, but Henry will be back in action at Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night in the Jensen Motorsports entry.
