Kalib Henry Overcomes Adversity at Placerville Speedway to Tally 12th Place Finish

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to Placerville Speedway for the first time since late July, Kalib Henry and McColloch Motorsports would overcome some early adversity in the feature event to finish 12th when the 25-lap feature concluded.

“We got off to a bit of a slow start on Saturday night, but we were able to make a couple of changes and really get going,” Kalib Henry said. “In the feature we got ran over on the first lap, went to the tail twice, and still fought back to finish 12th.”

With 29 cars on hand at Placerville Speedway, Henry timed the McColloch’s RV Repair/Express Sewer & Drain/Davis Truck Painting backed No. 17 entry in 12th fastest in time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Mather, CA driver was able to take care of business and pick up the win on the ultra-fast surface that greeted the field early in the night.

Earning a berth in the redraw, the seven pill would place Henry in the fourth row of the 25-lap feature event.

As the race went green, contact from another competitor would leave Henry with a flat right rear tire, and when the red flag waived for a flipping car, he was able to get to the work area to make repairs.

After tagging the field, Henry would come to a stop a few laps later and would again go to the tail end of the field.

With the race struggling to settle into an early pace, Henry was able to use the early restarts to begin making up lost ground. Working his way back towards the Top-10, Henry would overcome that slow start to finish 12th when the race concluded.

“It was tough to come from the back, but we were patient and picked up spots as they came to us,” Henry said. “It wasn’t the night we were hoping for, but we are confident in our piece as he we had to Hanford, CA this weekend.”

McColloch Motorsports would like to thank McColloch’s RV Repair, Express Sewer and Drain, Davis Truck Painting, ART Speed Equipment, RE Technologies, Hansen Machine, and Gary Morgan Graphics for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 7, Wins: 1, Top-5’s: 1, Top-10’s- 1
