PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting behind the eight ball early on Saturday night, Garth Kasiner wouldn’t let that deter him as he charged from 14th to third at Delta Speedway.
Taking part in the King of California round at Delta Speedway, Kasiner would get off to a bit of a rough start as he timed in an uncharacteristic 17th fastest in qualifying time trials.
With his team going to work on the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products No. 21G prior to his heat race, Kasiner would put on a nice charge that saw him work from his sixth starting spot to finish fourth.
Starting deep in the field for the feature event, Kasiner would take the green-flag from the seventh row and would put on an absolute show for all that were on hand on a hot Saturday night.
Avoiding a pile up in front of him on the initial start, Kasiner would go to work on the high, scary side when the green flag was officially displayed to the field for the 25-lap affair.
Getting up into the eighth spot in the first few laps, Kasiner showcased a very strong car that was underneath him on this night. Following another restart, Kasiner would continue to keep his right-rear planted on the cushion as he was able to make quick work of the competition.
Running the first half of the race primarily on the cushion, Kasiner would show smarts in the seat of the car as he then dropped low as the race moved on and continue to pick up positions as he charged toward the Top-Five.
With the confidence of knowing he could put his car anywhere on the Delta Speedway surface and have speed, Kasiner would recover from the slow start as he took the checkered flag with a third place finish.
