PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending the weekend at Visalia, California’s Plaza Park, Garth Kasiner would rebound from a 10th place finish on Friday night to finish second during the Mark Hagopian finale on Saturday night.

Kicking the big weekend off on Friday night at the racy venue hidden in Visalia, CA, Kasiner opened the night up by getting the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products machine timed in fifth quickest amongst the 18 Restricted cars checked into the pit area.

Finishing third in his heat race, the Five Points, CA pilot would take the green flag for the 25 lap feature event out of the fifth starting spot. When the race got underway, Kasiner found himself bottle up as he ran in the seventh position when the race was halted early for a roll over victim.

When the action resumed, Kasiner was able to make a couple of swift moves and take over the fifth spot. On the 10th lap, Kasiner would make a bid for the fourth position and contact would ensue bringing out another red flag.

Getting penalized for the incident, Kasiner would move to the back of the pack, when the race resumed. From the tail end of the field, Kasiner was able to make up some ground, as he would finish 10th during the Hagopian Memorial opener.

Back in action on Saturday night, Kasiner came out strong as he timed the Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels backed entry in second quickest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing second in his heat race, Kasiner would line up on the front row of the 25-lap finale alongside Corey Day. When the green was displayed to the field, Kasiner and Day hooked up in an entertaining battle, though Day would keep Kasiner at bay.

As the race clicked off laps, Kasiner would feel pressure for the second spot and this would allow Day to pull away as Kasiner held tough in the runner up spot.

A late restart would put Kasiner on Day’s back bumper, but on this night Day would just be too good as Kasiner would hang on to score a second place finish.

Garth Kasiner would like to thank West Hills Oil, CS9, Security Race Products, Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto & Air, Irritec P1 Drip Tape, Keizer Wheels, Factory Kahne, Kasiner Farms Inc., B&B Ag Transport LLC, Superior, Soil Supplements, Simplot, and Fresno Equipment Company for their support.
