PETERSEN MEDIA: Fighting suspension issues in the feature event on Saturday night at Delta Speedway, Garth Kasiner would still turn in a strong performance that saw him come away with a sixth place finish.
Picking up a win during his heat race, Kasiner would line the West Hills Oil/CS9/Security Race Products backed No. 21G up in the fourth row of the feature event.
After the first start was waived off, a pile up in turns one and two in front of Kasiner would move him up to the third starting position when the race finally came to life. Settling into third when the green flag was displayed to the field, Kasiner would chase after the lead duo of Joshua Rogers and Corey Day.
On the slick racing surface, the bottom groove was the preferred line by the leaders as Kasiner continued to work the bottom and keep Day and Rogers within striking distance as they quickly approached the back of the pack.
The yellow flag would fly on the race’s sixth lap and it would get the leaders a clear track, and it would put Kasiner back on Day’s rear bumper. Continuing to run in third as he wasn’t able to reel in the top two but a late restart would give Kasiner one final shot at making a bid for his 19th win of the year.
Falling back to fourth when the race came back to life, Kasiner would get into the infield berm in turns one and two and push up the race track and it would allow a couple of competitors by as Kasiner would fall back to sixth where he would go on to finish.
