PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing with the NSL at the Jackson Motorplex, and at the Badlands Motor Speedway in the Silver Shootout over the weekend, Kerry Madsen would finish fourth at the Jackson Nationals on Friday and would have a strong run going at Badlands until a spinning lapped car made contact with him.

“We had another really strong car over the weekend, and it is a huge credit to my guys,” Kerry Madsen said. “We should have easily had two Top-Fives, but something out of our control held us back on Saturday night.”

Checking in at the beautiful Jackson Motorplex on Friday night to battle the NSL during the Jackson Spring Nationals, Madsen timed the Keneric Health Care/Keneric Racing/American Racing No. 29 machine in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Finishing both fourth in his heat race and the Dash, Madsen would grid the field in the fourth row for the feature event after points from time trials, heat races, and the dash were tabulated.

On a racy ½ mile speedway, Madsen showed he had a very strong car as he quickly inserted himself into the Top-Five, as he got by Lynton Jeffery and Bill Balog. Into the fourth spot, Madsen would find himself chasing after Danny Lasoski for a few laps until his sights were then set on younger brother, Ian.

The closing laps would see Madsen take a couple shots at I. Madsen, but with the younger sibling answer his elders challenges, Madsen would end up with a fourth place finish.

Heading to Brandon, SD on Saturday night to take part in the Silver Shootout at the new Badlands Motor Speedway, Madsen would finish second in heat race action before gridding the field from the third row.

Flexing his muscle early in the feature event, the St. Marys, NSW pilot was able to work his way into the second spot as he chased after Mark Dobmeier. While the leaders raced in heavy traffic in the early goings of the race, Madsen would find himself in harms way as a slower car spun and made contact with him forcing him to the back of the pack.

From the back of the pack, Madsen would do what we could to get moving forward, but marred in dense traffic, he would end up finishing 18th.

“It was frustrating for all of us on Saturday night,” Madsen said. “We had a serious threat on winning a pretty cool race but circumstances took us out of contention. We have a pretty good thing going right now and that is thanks to my guys, our supporters, and Bob and Pete Gavranich for all they do for us.”

2016 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-41, Wins-7, Top-5’s-18, Top 10’s-26
