PETERSEN MEDIA- Kerry Madsen had a great weekend with the World of Outlaws as he kicked it off on Friday night with a sixth place finish in Jackson, MN before scoring a fifth place finish at his home track, the Knoxville Raceway, on Saturday night.

“All in all it was a good weekend for our team,” Madsen said. “Saturday could have gone a little better had we got through our heat, but we certainly won’t hang our heads for a fifth place finish.”

Hitting the Jackson Speedway on Friday night, ‘The Mad Man’ started his night off well as he timed the Keneric Racing/American Racing No. 29 entry in third quickest in time trials.

A third place run in heat race action was good enough to get the St Marys, NSW driver into the Dash, and a fifth place finish would put him in the third row of the feature event.

On a very slick and abrasive surface, the track began taking rubber when the green flag dropped, making passing very tough.

Conserving his tires to ensure a finish, Madsen would get in line in the sixth spot, and maintain, as he finished sixth.

Saturday night the scene shifted to the Knoxville Raceway, and Madsen flexed his muscle early as he timed in second fastest.

Heat race action wasn’t as kind to Madsen, as he slipped to the sixth spot, putting the EarthEX/Morrison Racing Engines/KPC in the night’s B Main, which he did go on to win.

Lining up in the ninth spot in the feature event, Madsen took what he learned in the B, and applied it in the feature, as he continued to move forward.

Running the cushion very well, Madsen closed his night, and his weekend, with a fifth place finish.

“The boys continue to work so hard, and we have so much speed on a nightly basis,” he added. “We continue to be very consistent, and we are all working at it to get even better.”

2014 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-44, Wins-6, Top-5’s-17, Top 10’s-33

ON TAP: The team returns to action on Friday night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND, before heading back to Minnesota on Saturday night and hitting the I-94 Speedway.
