Kerry Madsen Sixth with World of Outlaws in Merced, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA- Though Mother Nature shortened Kerry Madsen’s scheduled weekend, the Australian native was still able to get in one night action against the World of Outlaws and proceeded with to pick up a sixth place finish with Roth Motorsports on Friday night in Merced, CA.
“I thought Friday night went well for our team,” Kerry Madsen said. “I was happy with everything aside from our Dash draw. We are still essentially a new team, so we are continuing to gel, but we are showing some really good speed.”
With 33-cars checked in for the bullring showdown in Merced, CA, Madsen got off to a quick start as he timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/Jason, Tara, and Cole Roth Cattle Co. No. 83jr in sixth fastest in time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Madsen would get the jump and show the way out front for all eight laps. Racing to the win, ‘The Mad Man’ would move into the Dash where he would then be greeted by the eighth pill in the draw.
In a spirited Dash that saw close knit racing on the ¼ mile bullring, Madsen would end up finishing in eight which then placed him in the fourth row of the 35-lap feature event.
With the track continuing to slick off and become racier as the night went on, the feature event would be action packed as the leaders would find themselves in traffic within just six laps.
Slipping as far back as the 10th spot in the early goings, Madsen would race into the sixth position near the race’s halfway point as he battled for track position and dealt with traffic.
Briefly falling back to seventh, Madsen would get up on the curb that had built up around the speedway and made his way back up to sixth on the 26th lap and would eventually cap his night off with a sixth-place finish.
“We had a good enough car that I probably should have been able to work us into the Top-Five, but still I thought it was a good night for us,” Madsen added. “Big thanks to Dennis and Teresa Roth for continuing to support two teams out here and giving us both what we need to succeed.”
The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Jason, Tara, And Cole Roth Cattle Co., Roth Investments, FK Rod Ends, Vahlco Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Smith Titanium for their support.
