PETERSEN MEDIA- Piloting the Roth Motorsports No. 83 Jr during the 62nd Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions, Kyle Hirst would open the week up with a second place finish during the Civil War series event, and close the week with KSE Hard Charger honors with the World of Outlaws.

“I really have to thank Dennis and Teresa Roth for letting us come out and race all week long,” Kyle Hirst said. “We would have liked to run a little better with the World of Outlaws but we were able to move forward during the Gold Cup finale.”

Wednesday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, an extremely slick racing surface greeted competitors as Hirst timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No. 83jr in 10th fastest.

Picking up the heat race win, Hirst would move into the night’s Dash and work his way from sixth to finish in the fourth spot.

As the track started to take rubber at the end of the non-win race, passing was at an extreme premium for the 30-lap Civil War Series event. Getting into the third spot as the race went green, Hirst patiently chased after the lead duo of Justin Sanders and Sean Becker.

As the laps clicked off, Hirst would close in on the lead duo. With Sanders giving up speed in turn four, Hirst was all over him for the second spot with the white flag in the air. Coming to take the checkered, Hirst would squeeze underneath him and end his night with a second place finish.

Racing with the World of Outlaws on Friday night, ‘KH’ would time the 3H Cattle/Mobil 1/FK Rod Ends No. 83jr machine in 14th fastest in his time-trial flight. Finishing sixth in his heat race from the eighth starting spot, Hirst would be forced into the night’s Last Chance Showdown where a ninth place finish would end his night early.

Back in action on Saturday night for the Gold Cup finale, the Chico, CA driver would time in 14th fastest again. Making the transfer out of his heat, Hirst would line up in the 23rd spot for the 40-lap Main.

Following extensive track work prior to the A, Hirst was able to grab a few spots during the opening 14-lap run as the track was extremely fast early on. As the laps clicked on, the track would get racy, and Hirst would work his way up to the 13th spot at the stripe and earn KSE Hard Charger honors.

Sunday night would bring a busy week of racing to a close, as Hirst and his Roth Motorsports team headed to the Antioch Speedway with the World of Outlaws for one final time in 2015.

Experiencing steering issues in hot laps, Hirst would have his hands full in time trials as he muscled his way to 17th quick in time trials.

Finishing fifth in his heat race and moving into the A Main, Hirst would work from his 17th starting position to finish 12th on the slick Antioch Speedway surface.

“It was not the greatest week of racing with the World of Outlaws, but it is part of the sport,” Hirst added. “We have two races that are close to home for Dennis and Teresa Roth this weekend, and we will look to get this car back into victory lane.”

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle,  Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, KW Suspension, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2015.
