Kyle Hirst Charges Forward on Friday Before Mid-Race Wreck Saturday Night Ends Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Kyle Hirst and C&M Motorsports teamed up for Silver Dollar Speedway’s Fall Nationals over the weekend, and after a hard charge on Friday night that saw KH come from the ‘B’ to finish 14thin the ‘A’, a wreck on the 26thlap took the team out of contention for another Fall Nationals crown.

“I have to thank Cody and Mandi for a great opportunity to come race in honor of Stephen Allard,” Kyle Hrist said. “Friday night we went our early in our time trial group and the track got better and it really set us back but we battled hard and made the best of the situation.”

With 51 cars in the pit area, Hirst would go our first in Group B qualifying and would end up 11thfastest in time trials.

Finding himself in the third row of his heat race on a very locked down racing surface, Hirst would be unable to do much as his seventh place finish put him in the ‘B’ Main.

With the track continuing to stay too good, Hirst would pick up the fourth and final transfer position into the feature event as he would take the green flag from the 24thstarting position.

Despite the wicked fast track conditions, Hirst was able to work his way forward. Though it was tough, Hirst was gritty in his efforts as he closed Friday night out by gaining 10 positions and finishing 14th.

Returning to battle on Saturday night on the exact opposite track conditions, Hirst would be the first car out in the first group on this night and time in third quickest in time trials.

Winning the heat race, the Paradise, CA driver would move the Moorefield Construction, Inc./PT Shocks/Swartz Diesel backed entry into the Dash where his fourth place finish put him in the second row to start the 40-lap feature event.

On the slick racing surface, Hirst was very sporty in the race’s early stages. Running in the fifth position, Hirst would soon move into fourth as the track continued to slick off. Finding some rubber following a lap 22 red, Hirst would jump into third as he would battle with Tim Kaeding as they chased after Justin Sanders.

Battling for position in the lead pack, contact on the 26thlap would send Hirst upside down in turns three and four, and it brought his night and weekend to an end.

“I hate that our night ended like that for our team,” Kyle Hirst said. “I had found some rubber and think we had something for the top spot, but luck just wasn’t on our side. Thanks to Cody, Mandi, and MF for everything. It was a blast driving their car, and I wish thinks would have played out differently and we could have celebrated a win.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank Moorefield Construction, Inc., PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, Alturas Tires, and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
