PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Kyle Hirst was finally able to check a big one off of his racing ‘to-do’ list, as he broke through a won his first career Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial after coming so close in years prior.

For Hirst, the race has always meant a little something extra to him and his family, as his father, Rick, and Bradway, Jr were good friends un until the tragic accident. With the Hirst family getting this race up and going 26 years ago, it has been one that Kyle has been gunning for since strapping into a sprint car.

“This is just unbelievable to finally win this race,” an emotional Kyle Hirst said. “Everyone has always told me that I needed to win this race, and I think I have always put extra pressure on myself. To finally get it done, and to make it my first win with the Tarlton Motorsports team is awesome.”

Showing some serious speed aboard the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son. Inc. No. 21x entry early in the night, Hirst timed in second fastest for the 26th Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial before running second in his heat race.

Finishing fourth in the Dash, the Paradise, CA driver would line up in the second row of the 40-lap A Main event, and when the non-stop affair came to life, Hirst jumped into the third spot as he chased after Andy Forsberg and Sean Becker.

Working in thick traffic for much of the night, Hirst would get by Forsberg at the race’s halfway point as he hounded leader, Sean Becker. With Becker able to clear traffic, he built up a sizeable lead over Hirst that looked to be insurmountable at times.

Keeping his elbows up, Hirst began to push his car even harder as the laps clicked down and as time ran out he was visibly reeling the leader in. On the 37th lap, Hirst would pull alongside the leader off of turn two, and would pull ahead in turns three and four as he officially took over the top spot with just two laps to go.

Taking the white flag with Becker all over him, Hirst would see a lapped car get out of shape in front of him in turns three and four and he was forced to check up just enough to let Becker pull alongside of him. Out of for the four the two would drag race to the checkered flag and it was Hirst edging out Becker to claim the win on this night.

“I really have to thank everyone at Tarlton Motorsports and Roth Motorsports for making this possible,” Hirst added. “After struggling a little bit during our first night out, it is cool to bounce back with a win, and it being the Bradway makes it even more special.”

Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.
