PETERSEN MEDIA- After dominating the KWS weekend at the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA back in July, Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team returned to their winning ways at the thrilling track as the series made their final appearance of the season there on Saturday night.
“Saturday night the track really was fun to run in the feature event, and it got up on the wall like I prefer,” Hirst said. “It is very cool to set a personal season high with six KWS wins, and I really owe it all to the Tarlton Motorsports team and Roth Motorsports for making it all possible.”
Finding himself on the pole of the feature event after winning the Dash, Hirst would get a little tight on the race’s opening lap and slip back to the third spot. Finding himself in a battle with TK for the second position, Hirst would capitalize on a restart near the race’s halfway point.
Able to get by early leader, Justyn Cox, KH would find himself out front and in a familiar position aboard the Roth Motorsports/Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc. No. 21x.
Out front, Hirst was in command as he rode the high, scary side to perfection and extended his season long point lead by way of his sixth series win of the season.
Friday night, the series was also in action at the Ocean Speedway, and it was one of those nights that could make or break a championship. After timing in 20th fastest in time trials, the Paradise, CA driver would end up seventh in his heat race.
As the Tarlton Motorsports team continued to work on the famed all black machine, Hirst would put on a big time charge in the feature event. Going where others were not, Hirst would find himself in the Top-10 with just a few laps remaining in the race following a quick 22-lap green flag run.
A late restart would see several cars involved in a wreck in front of Hirst, and just narrowly able to avoid it, would find himself in the fourth spot. Able to hold the spot, Hirst would escape what looked to be a tough night and end up with a fourth place finish.
“After a tough weekend at Placerville, it was good to get back and get another win and a fourth place finish,” Hirst said. “We all want this championship bad, so hopefully we can continue to run well in these final two races. Again, huge thanks to the Tarlton Motorsports guys for all of their hard work, and Roth Motorsports for all of their support.”
Kyle Hirst and the Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Motorsports, Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2016 season.
ON TAP: Tarlton Motorsports and Kyle Hirst return to action on Saturday night with more KWS action at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, CA.
