Kyle Offill 11th at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: One week removed from a tough wreck at Placerville Speedway, Kyle Offill and Country Builders Racing returned to the bullring on Saturday night where Offill would pick up an 11th place finish.

“It was good to get back to the track, and get a full night of racing in,” Kyle Offill said. “Last week was tough, but I have to thank everyone on the team for working hard and getting us back in action.”

On a windy afternoon in Placerville, CA, the track surface would go slick early in the night making for tough conditions in time trials. Going out late amidst the 29-car field, Offill would get all he could on the speed chart as he would time in 16th fastest and just make the qualifying inversion.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Offill would stomp on the loud pedal when the action went green and jump out to the early lead. Hanging on to pick up the win, Offill would move to the feature event and would also qualify for the redraw.

Using Jimmy Wall’s pill draw service on Saturday night, Wall would pull the eight pill for Offill and put the Tracy, CA driver would in the fourth row for the 25-lap feature event.

On the slick racing surface in the feature event, Offill would trip up on the razor thin cushion in turns one and two, and it would result in him slipping all the way back to 18th just before the race’s halfway point.

Able to settle back in, Offill would slowly navigate his way back forward as he neared a spot inside the Top-10. When the checkered flag flew, Offill capped the night off with an 11th place finish.

“It has been good progress in our camp the last couple of weeks, and that is huge after having a pretty tough start to the year,” Offill added. “I am enjoying racing with Rodney Tiner, Jr, and hopefully this weekend we can improve even more.”

Kyle Offill would like to thank Country Builders, Ochoco West Lumber, Reliable Lumber, Boise Cascade, Inc., Brown and Miller, MAAS Brothers Powder Coating, Offill Family Farms, Tool Tech Construction Supply, HRP, FK Shocks, A.R.T. Enterprise, Hinchman Racewear, Maxim Chassis, and B. Scadden Design for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races: 11, Wins: 0, Top 5’s: 0, Top 10’s: 1

ON TAP: Offill will be right back in action on Friday night in Watsonville, CA and on Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway.
