Kyler Shaw 9th at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Kyler Shaw continues to be a consistent Top-10 finisher at the Placerville Speedway, and that trend continued on Saturday night when the Fresno, CA driver recorded a ninth place finish.
“It is nice to go to Placerville and run well with such stiff competition,” Shaw said. “We battled hard and didn’t go backwards, and were able to move around the track.”
In time trials, Shaw kicked his night off by timing his Shaw Structures Unlimited/PM$ Investments/Stan Yockey Motorsports No. 92 machine in 11th fastest.
Starting on the front row of his heat race, Shaw fell into the second spot, as he chased after Andy Gregg. Hitting his marks on the bottom of the speedway, Shaw would finish in the second position, putting him in the fifth row in the feature event.
When the green flag flew, Shaw tried his hand at Placerville cushion, but the bottom on this night stayed really fast, and slipped back to the 11th position.
Working his way back down to the bottom of the speedway, Shaw quickly found some speed, as he was able to work his way back into the Top-10.
With Andy Gregg getting out of shape in front of him, Shaw was able to take over the eighth spot, as he continued to work the bottom of the speedway, as laps continued to click off.
With a late race caution flying, a green-white-checkered restart saw Shaw and Andy Gregg battle, with the end result being Shaw slipping back to ninth at the finish line, as Gregg was able to make a power move on the cushion.
“Andy had a really good on the cushion, and made a really good move to get the spot,” Shaw said. “I made some mistakes early, but once I settled down and got into the flow of the race, I was pretty happy with the way things went.”
Kyler would like to thank Shaw Structures Unlimited, PM$ Investments, Stan Yockey Motorsports, Pro Signs, 4FourGraphics, F4st Four Media, Borrelo Racing Engines, Uncle Dave’s Ranch, and Sid’s Smokehouse for their support.
