Lamar Lands In Victory Lane at Marysville Raceway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to the Marysville Raceway over the weekend, Cody Lamar would turn in a masterful performance that saw him pick up his third win of the 2016 season.

“It was really a great night for our team from the time we unloaded our car,” Lamar said. “We had a really good car, and we were able to put a very strong night together and end up with a win.”

Kicking his night off by timing the A1 Septic/Joe Hunt Magnetos/NAAKE Suspension backed No. 9l machine in quickest in time trials, Lamar would go on to finish in the second spot of his heat race.

Drawing the two pill in the redraw, Lamar would line his entry up on the front row for the 25-lap feature event. On a track that was starting to slick off when the race went green, Lamar would jump out to the early lead as he used up what moisture was left on the speedway.

With Mike Monahan in tow, Lamar continued to lead the way even with a little bit of pressure being applied to him. Seeing the nose wing of his competitor on a few occasions, Lamar continued to hit his marks as he would go on to lead all 25 laps and pick up his third feature event win of the season.

“It was a really good race I thought,” Lamar added. “The 49 car showed me his nose a few times, and I was able to continue to hit my marks and adapt to the track that got pretty slick by the end of the race.”

Cody and his team would like to thank A1 Septic, Joe Hunt Magnetos, and NAAKE Suspension for their continued support.
