Lance Dewease Seventh at Williams Grove Fall Fest
PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the season finale event at the Williams Grove Speedway, Lance Dewease and his Dietz Motorsports team scored a seventh place finish on Friday night during the Fall Fest.
“We were okay on Friday night, we moved forward, but not as far as we would have liked,” Dewease said.
Starting the caution plagued feature in the 11th spot, Dewease moved into the 10th spot before a group of cautions slowed the pace in the very early goings of the feature event.
Though the race was slowed, Dewease was able to work his way into the seventh spot by the sixth lap as he chased after Danny Dietrich and Brian Montieth who raced in front of him.
A lap 12 caution brought on a fuel stop, with the Fayetteville, PA driver still sitting in 12th aboard the C.C. Dietz Builders/Conduit Connections/Hess Ornamental Iron No. 14 machine. When the race went back to green, Dewease was able to hold his position as he looked for anything to get into the top-five.
As the laps clicked down, the field spread apart, and Dewease closed it season out at the Williams Grove Speedway with a seventh place finish.
“We were definitely hoping for a little better result, but we are happy with a Top-10,” Dewease said. “We had a pretty good run at ‘The Grove’ in 2014 with the Summer Nationals win, fifth at the National Open, and third in the track championship. Hopefully we can come back even better in 2015.”
