PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking on the SCCT at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, a late race mechanical issue would end Andy Forsberg and the C&M Motorsports team’s night prematurely.
“It was a crazy night with so many cars at Placerville Speedway, but it was a pretty cool sight to see,” Forsberg said. “We had a really good car all night, but unfortunately we had a power steering issue late in the race due us in.”
Going out late in time trials, Forsberg would rip off the fastest lap in his group and would end up putting the PitStopUSA/Autism Awareness/Pacific Highway Rentals entry third overall on the speed chart with 63 cars in the pit area.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Forsberg would show the crowd he knows his way around the ¼ mile bullring as he forged his way to the lead and picked up the popular win and punched his ticket to the Dash.
Lining up fifth in his Dash, Forsberg would end up losing a spot and a sixth place finish would line him up in the 12th starting spot for the 40-lap ‘A’ Main event.
On the extremely slick Placerville Speedway surface, Forsberg would move forward in the early stages of the race as he soon found himself up in the seventh spot.
Battling for sixth, contact would result in Forsberg spinning the PT Shocks/Swartz Diesel/51 Fifty Energy Drink mount out and forcing him to the rear of the field as he kept his machine under power.
Able to stay on the lead lap until a caution flew, Forsberg would take advantage of the field bunching back up. Carving his way forward on the famed bullring, Forsberg would be forced off the speedway on the 25th lap with a blown power steering line.
“It was a bummer to have our night end like it did, but my guys really gave me a strong car,” Forsberg said. “The track crew did a great job with the surface considering the car count, and the SCCT did a nice job with the program.”
The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank PitStopUSA, Autism Awareness, Pacific Highway Rentals, PT Shocks, Swartz Diesel, 51 Fifty Energy Drink, and Velocity Race Gear and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
