Late Race Contact in Traffic Derails Sanders at Tyler Wolf Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA-  Traveling to Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night with Dale Miller Motorsports to take part in the Tyler Wolf Memorial, late race contact while battling with the leaders in traffic would relegate Justin Sanders to a 13thplace finish.

“We timed in well, and had a lot of speed but we still fought something with our engine all night,” Justin Sanders said. “Still, we did what we needed to do, and were in the thick of things late in the race but contact trying to make some moves relegated us to 13th.”

With 30 cars set for action on Friday night, Sanders would time the Thompson’s Buick-GMC/Thompson’s Jeep-Ram/Dale Miller Septic, Inc. backed No. 4sa machine second fastest which locked them into the Dash.

Picking up the Dash win, Sanders would roll off the starting grid from the fifth starting position as the Dash winner lines up behind the heat winners at Silver Dollar Speedway.

On a lightening fast racing surface, passing would prove to be challenging, and with the engine still not quite where the team wanted it, that also factored in passing being a bit difficult.

Patiently working around the bullring, Sanders would remain in the thick of things as he be challenge the likes of Sean Becker, Kyle Hirst, and even Andy Gregg during the duration of the feature.

A late race battle would see the Top-5 racing under a blanket and trying to maneuver slower traffic while battling for position, contact late in the race would result in Sanders looping the Dale Miller Motorsports machine before restarting and finishing 13th.

“There was a tight pack of  us all going for it, and I just got into the back of Andy Gregg and it looped our car,” Sanders said. “We will keep working at it, and try again in Chico, CA in a couple of weeks.”

The Dale Miller Motorsports team would like to thank Thompson’s Buick-GMC, Thompson’s Jeep-Ram, Dale Miller Septic, Inc., North County Plastering, Anrak Corporation, Yuba-Sutter Aviation, Frank’s Body Shop, Wion’s Powder Coating, Walker Performance Filtration, Factory Kahne Shocks, Smith Titanium, FK Rod Ends, Triple X Race Co., King Racing Products, A.R.T.
