PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore had a great night going during the Toller Memorial on Saturday night at the Marysville Raceway, but contact with another competitor while running in the third spot, had his machine on the tow truck, and back at his trailer with just nine laps left in the feature event.

“We had a great night going, and I thought we were on our way to at least a podium finish,” Mason Moore said. “Unfortunately I got a little used up on the 16th lap and the damage ultimately knocked us out of the race.”

With 25 cars on hand for the season opener at the Marysville Raceway, the Princeton, CA driver would time his Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Race Products backed No. 22 machine in 12th fastest before picking up the win in his heat race.

By way of his heat race win, Moore would qualify for the redraw and found himself with the five, putting him in the third row for the 25-lap feature event.

When the race got underway, Moore would jump into the fourth spot as he chased after third running Jeremy Hawes. On the hooked up surface, Moore was patient in his pursuit of Hawes, and was able to get by him following a lap seven restart.

Continuing to run in the third spot as the race neared the halfway point, Moore was in thick lapped traffic, when contact with another competitor caused front-end damage that ultimately forced him in the infield, as his night came to a close.

“The track was really fast, but you could do some moving and shaking in lapped traffic,” Moore added. “Unfortunately for us, lapped traffic got the better of us, as a car got a run on me and some contact ensued resulting in some damage. I really have to thank all of my guys for their hard work, and giving me a great car, and I am looking forward to Chico, CA this weekend for the Silver Cup.

Mason and his team would like to thank Coors Light, ITC Service Group, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, JRI Shocks, Platinum Powder Coating, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-6, Wins-0, Top-5’s-0, Top 10’s-1

ON TAP: Moore will return to action this weekend at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA as he competes in the Silver Cup.
