Lucas Ashe Tastes Silver Dollar Speedway Alphabet Soup

0149

PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the 26th Annual Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway over the weekend, Lucas Ashe would run the alphabet on Friday night before racing his way directly into the feature event out of heat race action on Saturday night.

“With over 50 cars there both nights it was a huge accomplishment to race into the feature both nights,” Ashe said. “Steven Tiner helped us out on Friday night and everything went really well and we came from the ‘C’ to the ‘A’, and on Saturday night we had various people lending us help and we were able to charge form 9th to third in our heat and make the show a little easier.”

Timing in 21st in his group in qualifying time trials, Ashe would miss out on making a heat race, and would find himself in the first non-qualifiers race. Picking up the win, Ashe would keep his night alive as he moved on to the ‘B’ Main where he would start from the rear of the field.

With a strong car underneath him, Ashe continued to lay down some impressive laps against a strong field of cars. Working his way forward, Ashe would turn a slow start into a great night as his third place finish furthered his night as he moved into the feature event.

Find himself again at the back of the pack, Ashe continued to do what he did all night though he would admit to being a little fatigued with the night that he had. Giving it his all, Ashe would cap a strong showing on this night with a 19th place finish in the feature.

Back in action for Saturday night’s Fall Nationals finale, Ashe would get off to a bit of a better start on this night as he timed the Jester Auto Museum and Event Center/SALCO Inc./Lucas Oil entry in 18th quickest in time trials which would put him in a heat race on this night.

Lining up ninth in the heat, Ashe would impress on lookers as he had his elbows up and ripped around the Silver Dollar Speedway. Making some nice moves, Ashe would finish third and punch his ticket into the 40-lap Fall Nationals feature event.

Lining up 12th on the starting grid, Ashe would continue to run well until being involved in a lap 17 incident that brought this night and weekend to an early end.

“I have to thank everyone that helped us out over the weekend,” Ashe said. “Steven Tiner was a lot of fun to work with on Friday night, and Saturday night it was cool to have various guys come over and lend a hand, and really help me out. It means, a lot, and I really appreciate the support we get from the racing world and our partners.”

Lucas Ashe Racing would like to thank Jester Auto Museum and Event Center, SALCO Inc., Lucas Oil, STL Tile, Crown Motors, Logo USA, Triple X Race Co., DMI Components, VSR, Factory QRC, Shaver Racing Engines, Rod End Supply, Fat Cat Propane, and Justeson Farms for their continued support.
