PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back on track Saturday night despite enduring engine issues one week ago, Carson Macedo and Tarlton Motorsports would finish 15th at the November Classic in Bakersfield, CA with the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series.
“I have to thank everyone involved with this Tarlton Motorsports team for getting the engine back together, and getting us back to the track,” Carson Macedo said. “It was unfortunate what happened in AZ, but I am glad we are back running this awesome car.”
With 54 cars checked in at Bakersfield Speedway on Saturday night, Macedo timed the Tarlton and Son, Inc./Complete Parts and Equipment/King Chassis backed No. 21 machine in eighth fastest in his qualifying group.
Moving into heat race competition, the Lemoore, CA driver would pocket a third place finish which would be good enough to move him directly into the 30-lap feature event.
Gridding the field from the seventh row in the 30-lap feature event, Macedo would find himself battling the likes of Kevin Thomas, Jr, Michael Kofoid, and Chris Windom amidst the star-studded feature event.
Admittedly making some mistakes over the course of the race, Macedo would end up finishing in the 15th position when the fast paced 30-lap feature came to a close.
“Our car was good, our engine seemed to run really well, I just made too many mistakes,” Macedo said. “It was great to get back in this thing and get another race under our belts before Turkey Night down at Ventura Raceway. Again, thanks to Tom and Tommy Tarlton, Sean Dyson, Paul Baines, Tyron Tyra, Justin Insley, and everyone that makes all this possible.”
