PETERSEN MEDIA- After a bit of a break from racing as he took a trip to Iowa to lend a hand to both Shane Golobic and his older brother, Carson, during the Knoxville Nationals, Cole Macedo came back strong on Saturday night as he finished third at Keller Auto Speedway.

“After being out of the seat myself for a few weeks, I’d say Saturday was a pretty stellar night,” Cole Macedo said. “I didn’t get timed in too well, but we did what he had to do and the guys gave me a great racecar.”

Timing in 11th fastest in qualifying time trials, Macedo would race his way to a heat race win aboard the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales backed No. 21x.

Advancing into the Dash, Macedo would tally a third place finish which put him in the second row to start the 30-lap feature event. On a racy Keller Auto Speedway surface, the Lemoore, CA pilot had his elbows up as he battled with the likes of Mitchell Faccinto, and Craig Stidham as they jockeyed for position inside the top-five.

Though the race got a little chaotic at times, Macedo was strong in the lead pack as he would hang on to his podium position and finish third behind DJ Netto and the aforementioned Faccinto.

“I really have to thank the Tarlton family for continuing to give me a great opportunity,” Macedo added. “I also have to thank Paul Baines, Tyrone Tyra, and my dad for all of their help last week and for giving me a really fast racecar.”

The Tarlton Motorsports team would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Yokut Gas, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-23, Wins-0, Top 5’s-9, Top 10’s-12.

ON TAP: Cole will reunite with the Civil War Series pres. by Flowmaster on Saturday night as the series invades Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA for the 58th Annual Johnny Key Classic.
