Macedo Lands on KWS Podium

PETERSEN MEDIA- After recording his career best finish with the King of the West Series a week ago in Tulare, CA, Carson Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team returned to the scene of Macedo’s first career podium finish a year ago, the Stockton Dirt Track, and the youngster continued to shine, as he again finished in the third spot.

“We are close, and I can’t thank everyone involved for continuing to give me a great racecar and confidence,” Macedo said. “I wish I was on top of the box celebrating, but it’s a process, and we are getting there.”

With 22 cars on hand at the Stockton Dirt Track, Macedo laid down a great lap in time trials, as he earned quick time honors, putting himself in prime position for the night ahead.

Lining his WFO Apparel/Tarlton and Son/Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino entry up in the second row of his heat, Macedo would maintain as a his fourth place finish put him safely in the nights dash.

Lining up in the fifth spot of the dash, the Lemoore, CA driver was up on the wheel as he carved his way up to the third spot, putting him in the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the action went green, Macedo held his won with the series’ season veterans as he battled with Jonathan Allard, Willie Croft, and Bud Kaeding, as they led the way.

In a tight, three car battle for the second spot, Macedo would get as high as the second spot, as he continued to battle.

A late caution bunched the field up, and with just six to go, Macedo was able to work into the third spot, and close in on the lead duo, as they raced hard in front of him.

Sitting the cat birds seat, Macedo couldn’t get up to make a move on the lead pack, and the end result was a very strong third place finish.

“It is great to get back on the podium,” Macedo said. “I said it last week, but it’s awesome to be racing wheel to wheel with some of the guys I watched and cheered for as I climbed the racing ranks. I have to thank my family, the Tarlton’s, Paul Baines, and the companies who support our team.”
