Macedo Picks Up 5th and 9th Place Finishes With King of the West Series

PETERSEN MEDIA- Competing in a pair of King of the West events over the weekend, Carson Macedo would pick up a fifth place finish on Friday night during the Pombo/Sargent Classic at the Ocean Speedway before finishing ninth during an eventful feature event on Saturday night at the Calistoga Speedway.
“It was a really good team effort overall,” Macedo said. “We had a fast car on Friday and I made a mistake late in the race, and on Saturday we were fast again but had a flat tire late in the race that knocked us out of to possible podium finish.”
Hitting the Ocean Speedway on Friday night, Macedo would time the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./WFO Apparel No. 21x machine in seventh fastest before picking up a win during heat race competition.
Moving into the Dash, Macedo would line up in the third row of the race, and would pick up fifth place finish, putting him in the third row for the 30-lap Main Event. A very racy Ocean Speedway saw Macedo spend much of his time up front as he battled with the likes of Tyler Walker and Bud Kaeding.
Continuing to run solidly in the top-five, Macedo would find himself battling with Jason Statler and DJ Netto late in the race. Getting over the cushion in turn two, Macedo nearly saw his night come to a violent end as he veered down across the track, but he was able to gather his machine up, and get back to the fifth spot, where he closed out his night.
Saturday night saw the series head to the scenic Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, CA to take to the half mile facility. After qualifying eighth, Macedo would then race his Tachi Palace and Casino/Pabco Gypsum/Executive Auto No. 21x machine to another heat race win and again qualify for the dash.
Lining up fourth in the feature event by way of his Dash finish, Macedo again looked very strong as he battled with Dominc Scelzi and Kyle Hirst as he ran in the fourth spot.
Moving into third on the ninth lap, Macedo would then set his sights on Kyle Hirst for the second spot, as the race moved at a rapid pace. On the 20th lap, Macedo would fall back to fourth as a charging Shane Golobic got the third spot, but we would assume the third position a lap later as bad luck hit Golobic.
Moving into the second spot on the 23rd lap, due to a caution, Macedo would have bad luck of his own as his left rear would go flat, and we would take a trip to the work area.
Getting his flat replaced, Macedo would pick up a few spots in the final two laps to end his night with a ninth place finish.
“We have an awesome racecar right now, and I have a ton of confidence in this team,” Macedo added. “I really have to thank the Tarlton family, Paul Baines, and everyone that helps us out, and has put me in this position.
Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., WFO Apparel, Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
ON TAP: Macedo will be back in aboard his Tarlton Racing machine on July 11th at the Ocean Speedway.
