PETERSEN MEDIA- Carson Macedo thought he saw his KWS Championship hopes literally go up in flames on Saturday night, but a true team effort saw the Lemoore, CA driver rebound to finish 12th during the Cotton Classic on Saturday night.

“We had a fuel issue idling around for the feature event, and when I came in the car went up in flames and I though we were done’ Macedo said. “My guys got the situation handled, and we were able to salvage the night, and I hope they know how much their effort meant to me.”

Timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Executive Auto Sales No. 21x machine in seventh fastest in qualifying time trials. Racing his way to a heat race win, Macedo would move into the Dash where a strong second place finish put him on the front row of the 30-lap A Main event where he looked to add to his point lead he had coming into the night of racing.

Noticing something was not right with his machine, Macedo would pull into the work area so his crew could assess the damage, and his car would go up in flames. Abel to escape with no injures and get the flames extinguished, the Tarlton Racing crew was able to get the problem fixed, and get Macedo back on track prior to the green flag falling.

From the back of the pack on a hooked up racing surface, Macedo did all he could to gain positions.  Driving a smart race, Macedo would pick up a few spots and keep his point lead heading into the season finale by way of a 12th place finish.

With just one race to go with the KWS Macedo will go into the race with a slim three point advantage over second running, Bud Kaeding.

“We had a great night going, and were in a good spot to have a strong finish and be in a really good spot for the finale, but now we have an exciting, and stressful night at Stockton to look forward to,” he added. “This would mean a lot to this team, and I know everyone involved will work hard to make sure we are ready to go for it.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2015 season.
