Macedo Strong in Stockton

PETERSEN MEDIA- Carson Macedo had a very good night in Stockton, CA as he scored a third place finish with the Civil War Series Presented by Flowmaster, before finishing sixth with the King of the West Series.

“We had a fast racecar in both classes, and I cannot thank Paul Baines and everyone at Tarlton Racing for all of their hard work, especially with two cars in action,’ Macedo said.

Opening his night up with the Civil War Series, Macedo timed the Elite Landscape/Tarlton and Son/WFO Apparel No. 21x machine in 10th fastest, before he raced his way to a heat race win, earning a spot in the night’s dash.

Finishing fourth in the six-lap dash, the Lemoore, CA driver would line up in the second row of the feature event. When the feature event went green, Macedo jumped into the third spot as he chased after Andy Forsberg and Rico Abreu, before he took advantage of Forsberg’s misfortune on the third lap, and moved into second.

Chasing after Rico Abreu on the heavy and rough surface, cautions and red’s slowed the race, as Macedo had a few shots at Abreu on restarts, but was unable to do anything with him.

Hanging in the second spot, Macedo felt pressure from a hard-charging, Tim Kaeding, in the closing laps, and slipped to the third spot with 10-to-go, and would go on to claim the final spot on the podium.

In King of the West action, Macedo set the standard in time trials, as he earned quick time honors before advancing to second in heat race action, moving him into the dash.

Macedo would finish in the dash, putting him in the third row of the feature event, and though he had just ran well in the 360, the track was just as demanding and challenging, in what was a wild feature event.

On the third lap, Macedo got out of shape, and bounced off the track, and ended up making a stop in the work area, before restarting from the tail end of the field. In a race that saw some wild wrecks, and hard nosed racing, Macedo was able to work his way through the field, and end his 2014 season with a sixth place finish.

“What a way to end our year,” he added. “I had an absolute blast tonight, and I can’t thank the Tarlton’s for letting me run both classes. We had a really good 2014 season, and I cannot wait to keep it going in 2015.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., WFO Apparel, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2014 season.

ON TAP: Macedo and his Tarlton Racing team will stay close to home the new few weekends, as they will be at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA this Saturday night in what kicks off three consecutive weekends of racing at the Thunderbowl.
