PETERSEN MEDIA- With the Winged Sprint Car season finished in the United States, Ian Madsen is extremely excited to run the KCP Racing colors in Australia in what will be an 18-race tour kicking off December 12th at the Valvoline Raceway in Australia, and wrapping up with the Australian Championship at the Premier Speedway the final weekend of January.
“I am extremely excited to be in my familiar KCP Racing equipment this time around in Australia,” Ian Madsen said. “I really have to thank Bret Nehring and Matt Barbara for letting us send two cars and enough inventory down to Australia for this tour, as well as Dave Sharman for getting everything ready to go for us.”
Madsen has worked with veteran mechanic, Dave Sharman, in Australia during the last two seasons and has high expectations for how his KCP Racing team will perform in his native country this coming December and January. Along with Sharman, Clinton McKenize and Jackson Davies will be with Madsen and the KCP Racing team during this tour.
“Dave Sharman and I have been close to some big wins during the last two seasons, and I think this year we will have all the right pieces to the puzzle, and that will help us get over the hump, and do all of our supporters proud while we represent them in Australia,’ Madsen added. “It is always great to get back home while it is cold in Iowa, and I am really excited for this trip.”
Madsen and company will take part in Speedweek at the Valvoline Raceway in Sydney, AU that puts them in action on six occasions, before they take on the World Series Sprint Car Series at the Archerfield Speedway in Queensland for a two-day show the second weekend of January.
The KCP Racing team will then make their way back to the Valvoline Raceway for the Scott Darley Challenge before they kick off the biggest week of the year in Australia.
Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic Week will feature Madsen in action at the Borderline Speedway for the King’s Challenge, before embarking on the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, AU for the biggest race of the year, the Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic.
As mentioned before, Madsen and his KCP Racing team will remain in Warrnambool, AU for the week as they take on some of Australia’s best as they try their hand at the Australian Championship for what will be their final event in Australia for the 2015/2016 season.
“We are nominated for some big races in Australia, and I am looking forward to putting this team up against some of the best in the World,” Madsen added. “I really just have to thank everyone that supports this team for making this trip possible. We have some of our supporters making the trip with us, and I am looking forward to showing them a good time, and having some good runs with them on hand.”
