Madsen Nets Podium at Tri-State Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Traveling to Haubstadt, IN over the weekend to battle with the World of Outlaws, Ian Madsen and KCP Racing would endure a Friday night mechanical failure, before rallying on Saturday night and finshing third with the CBS Sports Network cameras covering the event.

“We hit a bit of a rough patch, and it felt good to get back on the podium with the World of Outlaws,” Ian Madsen said. “To do it when we had some extra coverage for our partners made the night that much better.”

Pulling off the racing surface early in Friday night’s feature with issues, Madsen and company came back strong on Saturday night.

Timing the Logan’s Contractors Supply, Inc./Aspen Aire/Royal Flooring backed No. 18 entry in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials, the St. Marys, NSW native would pick up a Dash berth by way of his second place run in his heat.

Running third in the Dash, Madsen would roll off the starting grid from the second row for the 40-lap feature event on the popular bullring.

A very racy surface saw Madsen mix it up inside the Top-10 as he raced with the likes of Carson Macedo, Brad Sweet, as well as Daryn Pittman and Logan Schuchart.

With plenty of racing lines to choose from, the action was intense within the Top-5 as drivers changed position seemingly lap by lap. A late restart saw Madsen take the third position for good as he went on to capture his eight Top-5 finish of this shortened season to date.

“It feels good to get back on the podium for all of our great partners,” Madsen said. “Tyler Swank and Adam Clark continue to work hard for this team, and hopefully we can keep this up heading into the Jackson Nationals.”

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Logan Contractors Supply Inc., Aspen Aire, Royal Flooring, Bobcat, , Ted’s Body Shop, Team Excavating, Cox Design and Fabrication, Armor Electric Company, TammyHeckart.com, Quality Traffic Control, BergenKDV, and BK Racing Titanium for their support this season.
