Mark Forni Classic Tough To Mason Moore and F&F Racing

PETERSEN MEDIA- Looking forward to some home cooking after taking part in the Knoxville 410 and 360 Nationals, Mason Moore and F&F Racing didn’t have the night they were hoping for on Saturday night in Placerville, CA.
“Saturday night was a frustrating night all around for everyone,” Moore said. “There was a tough field of cars in the pit area, and we didn’t’ get timed in well and it haunted us all night long.”
Timing the Geico Local Office/Encino Lube-n-Tune & Brakes/Twisted Tea No. x1 machine in 22nd fastest in time trials amongst the 42 drivers checked into the pit area, lining him up in the third row of his heat race.
With passing tough in heat race action, Moore would fall in line back in the sixth spot as he tried to search around for a way to move into a transfer position. Finishing sixth, Moore would be forced into the ‘B’ for one final shot to race into the Mark Forni Classic feature event.
Lining up in the seventh spot of the semi, Moore jump into the sixth spot as the race came to life as he was in search of one of the four transfer positions into the feature event.
At the halfway point Moore would jump into the fifth spot as he needed just one more pass to put himself in a transfer spot. Trying all he could to get into the big show, Moore would go for it in the final pair of turns but would come up short as he couldn’t get to fourth and ended up spinning out just prior to taking the checkered flag.
“Getting back to Placerville, we were all hoping for a much better night,” Moore said. “Fortunately we have a chance to get right back up there on Friday night to redeem ourselves with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour.”
Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.
ON TAP: Moore and the F&F Racing team will be back in action this weekend for a pair of two Sprint Car Challenge Tour races starting Friday night at Placerville Speedway and Saturday night at Stockton Dirt Track.
