(Petersen Media): Returning to racing for this first time since late May, Mason Moore picked up an 11th place finish on Saturday night with the Civil War Series presented by Flowmaster during the 10th Annual Mark Forni Classic at the Placerville Speedway.

“It felt good to get back in the car, and I was really hoping we could a Top-10 out of it, but I was pleased to finish in the 11th spot,” Mason Moore said.

With 29 cars on hand for the marquee event, Moore would go out very late for time trials and just sneak into the inversion as he timed in 15th fastest and earned a front row starting position in his heat race.

Looking to race his way into the Dash, contact during the heat would negate that plan as the Princeton, CA pilot would be relegated to a seventh place finish and be forced into the night’s 12-lap B Main event.

Lining up on the front row of the semi, Moore would battle with Colby Wiesz up front for the LCS win before settling for second and moving into the night’s 30-lap A Main event.

On an extremely fast track, Moore would play it safe from his eighth row starting position. Un able to really get moving forward, Moore opted to get back in the racing groove and battle with Wiesz and eventually Andy Forsberg as passing was at an extreme premium on this night.

When the checkered flag flew on Moore’s return to racing, he would finish in the 11th spot aboard the Coors Light/ITC Service Group No. 22 machine.

“I was happy with our finish based on where we lined up for the feature,” Moore added. “Not too many people gained a whole lot of positions, so to take advantage of others miscues and move up was a good night.”

Mason and his team would like to thank Coors Light, ITC Service Group, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, JRI Shocks, Platinum Powder Coating, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support in 2015.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS– Starts-31, Wins-0, Top-5’s-2, Top 10’s-10
