PETERSEN MEDIA- With a pair of Civil War Series races on his schedule over the weekend, Mason Moore would finish 12th on Sunday night during the annual Silver Dollar Fair Race, a night after an early race incident ended his night.
“It was a rough weekend for our team,” Moore said. “We got caught up in a couple of wrecks early on Saturday night, and faded back late in the race on Sunday night.”
Racing at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Sunday night, the Princeton, CA driver would time the Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Race Products No. 22 machine in ninth fastest.
From the front row in his heat race, Moore would finish in the third spot, and transfer straight into the 30-lap feature event. With the opening few laps slowed due to caution flags, Moore would maintain in the 10th position.
With the race finally getting into an extended green flag run following a caution on the eighth lap, Moore would get his machine going forward inside the Top-10. Getting as high as the sixth spot, Moore would find himself in a pack of cars racing wheel-to-wheel for position.
A pair of late caution flags saw Moore lose track position on ensuing restarts, and he would ultimately end his weekend with a 12th place run.
On Saturday night, Moore and his team were at the Marysville Raceway for the 16th Annual Mel Hal Memorial. Timing in sixth fastest, Moore would finish fourth in heat race action and sneak his way into the night’s dash.
Lining up for the feature event in the eighth spot, Moore would get collected in a wreck on the third lap, and be forced to tag the rear of the field. Getting another two laps in, Moore would make contact with another driver, and his night would come to a close.
“Saturday night was a rough one for sure,” Moore added. “Sunday we were okay, but just faded back at the end and finished 12th. It wasn’t terrible but we need to get this car up front. I really want to thank everyone who helps us out on a weekly basis.”
Mason and his team would like to thank Coors Light, ITC Service Group, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, JRI Shocks, Platinum Powder Coating, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support in 2015.
