Mason Moore 12th With SCCT While Racing Under the Weather

PETERSEN MEDIA- Waking up Saturday morning unsure if he would even be up for a night of racing, Mason Moore fought through flu-like symptoms and scored a 12th place finish with the new Sprint Car Challenge Tour in Stockton, CA.
“I woke up Saturday not feeling well at all, and really didn’t know if I would even be able to race,” Moore said. “I rested and got fluids as much as I could and decided I would make every effort for my team.”
Battling the elements, Moore would get his night started off by timing the Geico/Econo Lube-n-Tune/Twisted Tea No. x1 machine in fifth fastest in his heat race group, lining him up in the third row.
Unable to race his way into one of the four transfer spots that were available in heat races, Moore would take the Levin’s Auto Supply/Garth Moore Insurance/LRB Race Products sprinter into the 15-lap ‘B’ Main.
Lining up in the second row of the semi, the Princeton, CA driver would take care of business as he battled with Shawn Conde and Sean Becker well within a transfer spot to finish third and keep his night going.
Moving into the 35-lap ‘A’ Main event, Moore would line the F&F Racing entry up in the 20th starting position.
With cautions plaguing much of the race, Moore did what he could to keep his nose clean while mired deep in the field on an extremely slick Stockton Dirt Track surface. Able to pick up spots as they were there for the taking, Moore would tough it out and end up with a 12th place finish.
“I have to thank my guys for working extra hard for me Saturday night,” Moore said. “It wasn’t the most fun night to be at the races, but they worked hard and we ended up salvaging it. Looking forward to getting back to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.”
Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.
ON TAP: Moore and F&F Racing will head up to Placerville Speedway for a night of weekly action on Saturday night.
2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-8, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-4.
