Mason Moore 4th at Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial with Brian Cannon Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his weekend aboard the Brian Cannon Motorsports No. 47 machine competing at Silver Dollar Speedway for the Bill Brownell Memorial and the Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial, Mason Moore would have a great finish with the King of the West Series on Saturday night that saw him finish fourth.
“It was a pretty good weekend for the BCM team,” Mason Moore said. “We timed in well both nights, put ourselves in a good position both nights, and Saturday we brought home a good finish.”
Saturday night’s Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial saw Moore timed the Mike’s Harder Lemonade/Garth Moore Insurance/FK Rod Ends backed No. 47 entry in third quickest in qualifying time trials before finishing third in his heat race.
Taking his heat race finish combined with his qualifying effort, Moore would have enough points to qualify for the Dash and he would take full advantage of being in the Dash as the win put him on the pole for the 40-lap Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial feature event.
When the race came to life, Moore would get the early jump on Willie Croft and led the first three laps before a spirited battle with Croft saw him fall to second on the fourth lap.
Battling hard with Tanner Thorson, Moore would fall back to third but would continue to run inside the Top-Three despite a myriad of stoppages and restarts. With the race struggling to get into a flow at times, Moore would continue to run in third until a charging Kyle Hirst knocked him back to fourth with 15 to go.
As Hirst and Thorson battled in front of him, Moore would close in on the duo as he looked to regain a spot on the podium, but on this night he would take the fourth place finish.
Friday night also saw Moore and the BCM team check into Silver Dollar Speedway as they were geared up for the Bill Brownell Memorial. Timing in ninth quickest in time trials, Moore would win his heat race and earn a spot in the nightly redraw.
Pulling the six pill, Moore would grid the field from the third row for the 30-lap finale. Admittedly having his fair share of struggles in the feature event, Moore would do what he could as he fought to stay inside the Top-10.
Losing a couple of positions late in the feature, Moore would take the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.
“Friday night we just missed it in the feature and went backwards,” Moore noted. “Saturday night we were right there, we just got a little free as the race went on, but to run Top-Four is still a good accomplishment and something we will look to build on.”
Brian Cannon Motorsports would like to thank Mike’s Harder Lemonade, Garth Moore Insurance, FK Rod Ends, and Mountain Mikes Pizza for their support in 2018.
