PETERSEN MEDIA- Still working on getting back into racing shape after being out for a little over two months, Mason Moore raced his way to a seventh place finish at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night.
“I am enjoying being back racing, but I am falling out of the seat at times as I try to get back into racing shape,” Moore said.
Timing the ITC Service Group/Coors Light/LRB Race Products No. 22 machine in sixth fastest, the Princeton, CA driver would line up on the front row of his heat race.
Getting the jump on Chase Majdic, Moore would lead every lap and earn the win, as he would move into the feature event and line up in the third row after participating in the redraw.
On a fast Silver Dollar Speedway racing surface, Moore held his own in the fifth spot as he chased after Sean Becker. As the laps clicked down, Moore would soon feel pressure from Keith Bloom and Michael Ing.
With Bloom getting the better of Moore, ‘Primetime’ would continue to run in the sixth spot as he fended off Ing’s advances.
As the race came to a close, Moore would lose another position as he fell back to the seventh spot where he would go on to finish.
“I had a good car, but I just made a couple of mistakes late in the race and gave up a Top-Five finish,” Moore said. “I feel like I am getting stronger week after week, so we will come back and see what we can do during the Tyler Wolfe Memorial this weekend.”
