Mason Moore 7th at Silver Dollar Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his Friday night in action at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Princeton, CA pilot, Mason Moore, overcame an early spin to score a seventh place finish at the track he calls home.
“The track was in perfect shape, but unfortunately I lost the handle, and spun, forcing us to the back of the pack,” Moore said. “We had a really good car, and we were able to fight forward and finish in the seventh spot.”
After timing the Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Racing Products No. 22 machine in eighth fastest, the driver known as ‘Primetime’ would win his heat race from his front row starting spot, and put himself in the fourth row of the feature event.
When the race went green, Moore worked into the seventh spot, as he took a liking to the bottom of the speedway in his pursuit of Tanner Thorson, who ran ahead of him in the sixth position.
As he battled inside the Top-10, Moore would lose the handle on his machine, and be forced to the tail end of the field. On an extremely racy Silver Dollar Speedway, Moore would patiently work his way back through the field.
Hitting his marks, and keeping his composure, Moore would claw his way back to a seventh place finish when the dust settled on the race.
“I made a mistake, which hurt us pretty bad, but we had a car that was able to get through traffic, and we were able to work our way back forward,” he said. “It has been a frustrating start to our season, but everyone is continuing to work hard, and hopefully we can get some luck on our side very soon.”
