PETERSEN MEDIA- Putting a team together over the winter, Brian Cannon and Mason Moore made their debut during the opening night of Silver Cup in Chico, CA on Friday night and the result would be a little less than desired as Moore would get upside down early in the race.

“We crashed in the feature event, but everything up until that point seemed to be going well,” Mason  Moore said. “We had good speed, and Brian and I work well together so I am excited to see what we can do with the 47 in 2018.”

When the action came to life on Friday night, Moore timed the Mike’s Harder Lemonade/Garth Moore Insurance/FK Rod Ends backed No. 47 machine in sixth quickest in qualifying time trials on a Silver Dollar Speedway surface that produced a lot of speed.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Princeton, CA native would jump on the throttle and win the race into turn one. Out front, it was smooth sailing for Moore as he would pick up the win and earn a spot in the nightly redraw.

With some luck on his side, Moore would end up with the three pill which put him in the third starting position for the feature event. With the track still fast, starts would be key, and Moore found himself going back and forth with Michael Ing during the intial start and a few restarts that took place early in the race.

Trying to sneak under Ing in turns three and four on the second lap, Moore would catch a rut and it would send him flipping, bringing his night to a tough end.

“Unfortunately with the rain out we could only run on Friday night since I had some prior commitments on Saturday,” Moore explained. “I was hoping we could have a good night, and it was going well until I caught that rut. I have to thank Brian Cannon and all of our partners for making this deal possible.”

Brian Cannon Motorsports would like to thank Mike’s Harder Lemonade, Garth Moore Insurance, FK Rod Ends, and Mountain Mikes Pizza for their support in 2018.
