PETERSEN MEDIA- Friday night in Chico, CA, Mason Moore took the controls to his Mason Moore Racing No. 22 machine and competed in honor of David Tarter at the David Tarter Memorial. In a race honoring a fellow sprint car and outlaw kart competitor, Moore would record an eighth place finish.

“It was nice to get back to Chico on Friday night, but I wish we could have ran a little better,” Moore said. “In the feature event, we just couldn’t seem to get going.”

Timing in sixth fastest during time trials with 20 cars checked into the pit area, Moore would line the Coors Light/Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office No. 22 machine up in the second row of his heat race.

From the third starting spot, Moore would finish in the third position and earn a spot in the all important redraw that would set  the first four rows of the feature event lineup.

The seven pill was Moore’s fate and that meant the LRB Race Products/NAAKE Suspension/K&N entry would take the green flag from the seventh starting spot.

On a tricky Silver Dollar Speedway that was much of the field work the low line in turns one and two, and rip around the cushion in turns three and for, Moore struggled to get going forward.

Abel to maintain during the 25 lap feature event, Moore would battle for the seventh and eighth spots much of the race as he battled with Michael Ing and Andy Forsberg.

Trying to get more spots, Moore was just a Top-10 car on this night as he would take the checkered flag with an eighth place finish.

“We just couldn’t really get going forward,” Moore added. “We were able to maintain and stay in the Top-10, but that was pretty much it.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, , LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.

ON TAP: Mason Moore will be back in action in the F&F Racing machine on Saturday night in Calistoga, CA.
