PETERSEN MEDIA- After surviving the first ever Sprint Car Challenge Tour event two weeks ago, Mason Moore and F&F Racing were back in action with the series on Saturday night and recorded a seventh place finish.

“It was great to get back to Placerville, and race in front of such an awesome crowd,” Mason Moore said. “We had a really good night, and it’s great to get a Top-10 with such a deep field of cars.”

Timing the Geico Local Office/Twisted Tea/Levin’s Auto Supply No. x1 machine in second fastest in his time trial group, the Princeton, CA driver would make some moves during his heat race and pick up the important victory.

With the win, Moore would advance into one of the night’s twin dashes where a fifth place finish would line him up in the fifth row of the 40-lap feature event. Ax overflowing pit area would lead to an extremely slick ¼ mile racing surface and Moore would take a liking to it.

Showing his 2016 championship pedigree on the slick surface, Moore would go to work on the bottom of the speedway as he mixed it up with some of the region’s top drivers.

In an action packed feature event, Moore would find himself up as high as the fifth spot during the 40-lapper, and in the blink of an eye would be back as far as the eleventh spot as cars raced side-by side much of the night.

The race’s final green flag run of the night would see the reigning track champion settle into the seventh spot where he would go on to finish.

“We obviously want to be up front battling for wins, but it’s been a pretty good start to the season with the SCCT, and I think we will continue to get better,” Moore said. “I am looking forward to getting to work in Tulare, CA this weekend with both the SCCT and KWS.”

Moore would like to thank Geico, Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Twisted Tea, Levin’s Auto Supply, Garth Moore Insurance, LRB Race Products, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Sierra Single Ply, Lucas Oil, RPI, and Encore Catering for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Moore and F&F Racing will be in action on Friday night at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA for the opening night of the Peter Murphy Classic.

2017 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-2, Wins-0, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1.
