PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore had a very nice weekend that saw him score a third place finish on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, before Northern California rain threw a wrench in his schedule, and he ultimately wound up at the Marysville Raceway where he would finish in the sixth position.

“It was nice to have a good weekend of racing,” Moore said. “It’s been no secret that it has been a tough few weeks, but I am pleased with how we raced, and hoping we can have a strong showing at the Bradway Memorial this weekend.”

Friday night saw the Princeton, CA driver check into the Silver Dollar Speedway for the Bill Brownell Memorial, and with 20  cars in the pit area, Moore would time the Coors Light/ITC Service Group/LRB Race Products No. 22 machine in 10th quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the pole of his heat race, “Primetime” would pick up the win over Jason Statler, and earn a spot in the redraw, where he found himself with the one pill, and on the pole for the feature event.  When the race went green, Moore slid up in front of fellow front row starter, Rico Abreu, as he made a bid for the early race lead, but he drifted up too high, and found himself in the fourth spot, as he chased after Jonathan Allard and Colby Copeland who raced in front of him.

In the fourth spot, Moore would challenge Copeland a few times as he look for third, but was unable to find an opening. During the race’s closing laps, Moore would take advantage of another driver’s misfortune as he moved into the second spot, as he continued to hound Copeland. With the checkered flag in the air, Moore would cross the finish like with a third place finish.

“You hate to not win when you start on the front row, but I made a move early, and it did not work out, and we were able to hang around and finish third,” Moore said.

With nearly all racing in California rained out on Saturday, Moore and his team headed to the Marysville Raceway for another night of 410ci action.

After timing in third quick on a lightening fast Marysville Raceway, Moore would finish second in his heat race, before pulling the seven pill in the redraw. With passing at a premium on this night, Moore would jump into the sixth spot, as he worked on Colby Wiesz.

Not having a chance to challenge for the position, Moore would end his night with a sixth place run.

“With rain the night before, the track stayed really fast, and passing was pretty tough,” Moore added. “All in all we had some pretty good speed all weekend, and were able to pick up a couple of nice finishes. Hopefully from this, we can build, and start contending for wins.”

Mason and his team would like to thank Coors Light, ITC Service Group, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, JRI Shocks, Platinum Powder Coating, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support in 2015.
