PETERSEN MEDIA- Mason Moore had a very strong weekend during two nights of action that saw him win at the Silver Dollar Speedway in the Mason Moore Racing No. 22 machine, and charge from 16th to finish third at the Placerville Speedway in the Friends and Family Racing No. x1 machine.

“What a weekend,” Moore said. “It was great to get a win in the family car on Friday night, and after a minor hiccup before the feature on Saturday night it was a blast to come through the field.”

Checking in at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night aboard the Coors Light/Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office No. 22 machine, Moore would time in second fastest before finishing third in his heat race.

With lady luck on his side, Moore would find himself with the one pill and one the pole for the 25-lap feature event. Falling into the second spot when the race went green, Moore would find himself chasing after Kalib Henry who ran up front early.

Racing wheel-to-wheel with Henry, Moore would take the lead just before a caution flew, and would find himself up front with a clear track ahead of him. When the action resumed, Moore would set sail and race to his third feature event win of the 2016 season.

Heading to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, the Princeton, CA driver would time the Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office/Moore Insurance Services backed No. x1 machine in third fastest before finishing third in his heat race.

Drawing the three pill for the feature event, Moore would find himself in the third starting spot for the 25-lap feature event. When it came time to push, Moore’s machine would not fire. Heading to the work area to rectify the problem, the crew couldn’t visibly see anything wrong.

Trying one final time to fire, Moore would have a little more luck on his side as his machine came to life and he tagged the back of field. On a very racy Placerville Speedway, Moore put on a show as he looked to rebound from his early bad luck.

Fighting through thick traffic for much of the race, Moore would turn in a strong showing that saw him charge from 16th to finish in the third spot.

“It was a really good weekend for both teams, and that is a huge credit to how hard both crews work,” Moore said. “It was awesome to win in Chico for the first time in a few years. We had a good car on Saturday, and I think that showed with how we came through the field.”

Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, Lucas Oil, ITC Service Group, Saureel, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.

ON TAP: Moore will be in action on Friday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA with the Civil War Series before returning to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-28, Wins-3, Top 5’s-16, Top 10’s-22.
