Mason Moore Races To Two Top-Top 10’s Including Second Place Effort at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- In action on both Friday and Saturday night, Mason Moore would finish in the seventh spot at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night before picking up an exciting second place finish on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway.
“It was a really good weekend in both cars,” Moore said. “Friday night in the Mason Moore Racing No. 22 we were okay and finished in the seventh spot, and Saturday night we were really good in the F&F Racing No. x1 machine and were able to finish in the second spot.”
Timing the Coors Light/Econo Lube and Tune/Geico Local Office backed No. 22 machine in eighth fastest on Friday night, Moore would take care of business in his heat race as he picked up the win and moved into the Top-Eight redraw.
On an extremely tacky and hooked up surface, Moore would take the green flag from the sixth spot. Moving into the fifth position, Moore would chase after Brad Bumgarner who ran just ahead of him.
On a surface that put on an exhibition of raw speed, the only way to gain or lose positions would be due to a mistake. Moore would admittedly do just that and concede the fifth spot to Bobby McMahan just before he guessed wrong in lapped traffic and falling back to seventh as Andy Forsberg got by.
Climbing aboard the Friends and Family Racing No. x1 machine on Saturday night, Moore would get his night off to a great start as he earned quick time honors during qualifying time trials.
Moving to the front row of his heat race after a fellow competitor was penalized, Moore would take full advantage of the starting position and pick up the win and move directly into the feature event.
By way of a pill draw, the Princeton, CA driver would line his machine up in the third row for the 25-lapper. Working the bottom of the speedway to perfection, Moore would work his way up to the third spot as he set his sights on Rico Abreu and Jonathan Allard who led the way.
A late restart would bunch the field up, and Moore would get into second as he got by Allard, but was unable to get to Abreu and closed his weekend out with a second place finish.
“It was really great to end our weekend with a second place finish,” Moore said. “We had an awesome car and we were able to move forward on what was kind of a tough track. I have to thank everyone who works on and supports both teams for all that they do.”
Moore would like to thank Coors Light, Econo Lube and Tune, Geico Local Office, LRB Race Products, NAAKE Suspension, K&N, Selover Paint and Body, and Moore Insurance Services for their support.
ON TAP: Moore will return to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night before taking on the King of the West Series on Saturday back at the Placerville Speedway.
